GetWet achieved in 3 hours what 2 previous lessons elsewhere plus numerous gos at surfing had failed: standing up on the board! Our instructor Josh was thorough, passionate and noticed every mistake, correcting us as we went along so that we finally learned the correct technique. The lesson structure was excellent with a full intro to surf and sea safety and even an explanation of rip tides, both interesting and useful. By the time we got in the water I was raring to go and could not believe it when both me and my friend stood up on the first attempt, RESULT!!! The mobile aspect of GetWet is inspired and means you can get picked up and taken to the best beach locally for your ability with all the gear you require. Initially we wanted to surf in the morning but Josh told us the best waves for us would be in the afternoon and he was so right, we learnt extremely quickly in the ideal conditions for our level making the experience incredibly satisfying.Josh is the most pleasant, friendly, passionate and thorough instructor I have come across. He genuinely cares about you having a great experience and really teaches you by honing your technique with tips and giving positive feedback. He bent over backwards to get us boards for the next day to practise and was really accommodating. The only problem is I’m now totally and utterly hooked oon surfing!
